What are Gel-X extensions?

Apres Gel-X is a soft gel nail extension system. It uses soft gel tips and extend gel. According to the brand, the formula is made for convenient soak-off removal, with no filing, no dust and no odor.

It is offered as an alternative to traditional acrylic or hard gel extensions.

How is it different from structured gel?

Structured gel with sculpted extensions is also available for added length. Gel-X is the choice for a soft gel extension system, using soft gel tips and extend gel.

Both services are gel only. We do not offer acrylic services here.

What to expect at your appointment

Your technician prepares your natural nails, then applies the soft gel tips and secures them with extend gel. The gel is cured under a lamp before the finishing steps.

This is a good moment to talk about shape and length. Pictures of nails you love are very helpful, and so is telling us how short or long you like to go.

A quick guide to gel types

Different gels do different jobs, and we like to explain them so you know what is on your nails.

• Soft gel is also called soak-off gel. It can be removed by soaking in acetone. It adds strength to natural nails that are short to mid-length.

• Hard gel is lightweight yet strong. It cannot be soaked off with acetone.

• Acrygel is a self-leveling formula that suits long extensions.

• Gel polish is sometimes called Shellac. Shellac is actually a trademarked product line from CND, so the two names are not quite the same thing.
